Nermin's work is multidisciplinary, integrating graphic design with art, craft and illustration. Having lived between Dubai, New York, Toronto, and Phoenix, she has worked with a wide range of clients and startups and helped create brand narratives in the cultural, edu/tech and non-profit fields. She also worked alongside great minds in the industry including FutureBrand, MBLM and Fikra.
Nermin has a Bsc in Visual Communications from the American University of Sharjah (UAE), and an Interdisciplinary MFA from OCAD University (Canada). Her MFA focus urged her to question the main concerns of her practice as a graphic designer, beyond fulfilling consumer needs. Through her work, she pursues design as a discipline that elicits critical reflection.
Her work has been exhibited at The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, MonOrchid Gallery in Phoenix, and was part of Chicago's Typeforce 8.
Nermin is currently a designer at Chicago's Firebelly design studio.
