My work is multidisciplinary, integrating graphic design with art, craft and illustration. Having lived between Dubai, New York, Toronto, and Phoenix, I have worked with a wide range of clients and startups and helped create brand narratives in the cultural, edu/tech and non-profit fields. Prior to venturing off on my own, I had worked for and alongside great minds in the industry including FutureBrand, MBLM and Fikra. Working as an independent designer has given me the opportunity to exercise my autonomy and develop a unique perspective through working on a few side projects. In 2013 I co-founded The Friday Collective, a paper goods company that celebrates timeless wisdom.
I have a Bsc in Visual Communications from the American University of Sharjah (UAE), and an Interdisciplinary MFA from OCAD University (Canada). My MFA focus urged me to question the main concerns of my practice as a graphic designer, beyond fulfilling consumer needs. Through my work and formal exploration, I pursue design as a discipline that elicits critical reflection.
My work has been exhibited at The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, MonOrchid Gallery in Phoenix, and was part of Chicago's Typeforce 8.
I am currently a designer at Chicago's Firebelly.
